Sold "Wild Things" to Stu and Naomi Goldman at the opening nite of my group showing with Artist Haven Gallery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for November 2009. Stu is a "card" to say the least - and a great cartooonist - it was a pleasure to meet them both and talk to them about my work and style.

The illusive nature of movement inspires me to create imagery that is both eternal and immediate, abstract and impressionistic.

I do not know how I appear to others but to myself I am still a child finger painting in kindergarten, exploring, discovering and loving the textural feeling of paint running through my fingers and finding everything I do magical, wonderful and a miracle.

Space Between Red Sky and Green Earth.

Out of all the works I have done this fall this is by far the favorite - I love the reds, red corals, greens, green teals, and yellows - and the movement created by the colored lines floating throughout the red and green spaces.

Ever wonder about the space between things - like the space between your thoughts and your actions, or the space between water and the sky, or the space between color and color. When I paint I think about constantly the space between my movement and actions in the work I am creating and what actually happens on the surface. I ask myself - is my mind getting in the way, is my history - or am I allowing the work to become the "thing" it is supposed to be. I actually paint with my left hand, I am right handed, a great deal of the time because my left hand seems to make "fresher" "freeier" marks than my right. My right just seems to be too controlling. Bottom line the space between for me is about possibility and creation.

"Inside" 22 x 22 Acrylic on paper. Part of my "Space Between" series.

I have been working on this piece all day - the green "feels very different for me! But it works. This work will be for my Florida show in Nov. It's a very large acrylic 44x54 stretched. There is an old painting underneath it - I frequently paint over works that I have lost interest in and are taking up room in my studio. The textures from the work underneath pop to the surface on the new work and that is very exciting for me. I am calling this work "Fairy Falls" it's a falls in Yellowstone -

First Place - American Art Awards 2009 - exotic category.
"Come Down To The Still Grove With Me My Beloved" Part of my Trinity Series which is all about love.

There is just something about fall that triggers freshness and newness - and exciting color. As some of you know I have started working with a new color palette in my works and it reminds me of the colors in an oak leaf in the fall, greens, rusts, yellows. And teal seems to be popping up - it just seems to want to be in my works.

The Space Between Green Blue Sky and Blue Water"

Just finsihed this 36x60 acrylic on canvas, it is part of my "Spaces Inbetween" series. In this body of work I am painting the space between things like water and sky or me and my mark making - it has been so far a very fun space with art works that are full of exciting visual mark making.
